Assuma suas incoerências, militante!

O texto de hoje é um apelo que cabe para todos, mas é voltado especificamente para as militantes e ativistas desse mundão. É simples na teoria e dificílimo na prática. Por isso me perdoem, mas vou ter que recorrer ao mecanismo da repetitividade, partindo desta introdução: reconheçamos nossas incoerências!

Vamos começar levinho, por onde todo mundo consegue acompanhar e concorda: Fato 1: todos nós, seres humanos, somos imperfeitos. Sim, até você, lesbofeminista gold star, é imperfeita. Você também, vegana. É todo mundo mesmo. Temos falhas, temos defeitos, e temos contradições entre nosso pensar e nosso agir. Reconheçam suas incoerências.

Fato 2: nosso agir é guiado pelo nosso pensar, mas não se restringe a ele. Todas sabemos da eterna briguinha entre nossa consciência e nosso desejos e vontades. Então sim, muitas vezes a gente tem plena consciência de que não deveria estar agindo de tal maneira, mas ainda assim age. Seja porque o estômago gritou de fome, porque você não resiste aquele catupiry derretido na pizza, ou porque a buceta é teimosa e insiste em querer quem não deveria; nosso agir não é inteiramente controlado por nosso pensar.

Deboísmo ou negacionismo?

E aí, quando você se depara com uma contradição, vislumbra logo dois caminhos: 1 – reconhecer que está fazendo errado, e vida que segue (afinal, não sou perfeita mesmo, fazer o que?); ou 2 – negar a contradição, porque não consegue (ou não quer) ter que lidar com o fato de ser uma pessoa incoerente. As duas opções estão erradas. Isso mesmo, erradas, sem floreio e sem eufemismo. E é agora que a gente começa a sair da fase “ainda estamos todos de acordo e acompanhando”, e entrar na fase “eita, sei não”. Mas vamo que vamo.

A primeira opção é errada porque caímos naquele lugar muito confortável, de que “ah, a vida é assim mesmo, não há o que ser feito”. E aí de fato, nada é feito. Essa dinâmica parece aquela de “rever/checar seus privilégios”. Nenhuma luta nasce daí. Chamo de “ode ao autoflagelo”. Assume-se que é um indivíduo mais ou menos, morno, mediano, e pronto. De que que adianta pra luta e para a transformação da sociedade? Nada.

Em vez de melhorar suas atitudes, você escolhe piorar as pautas?

Mas a síndrome que acomete militantes e ativistas está no segundo caso. Seja porque essas pessoas se sentem muito especiais, ou porque se sentem obrigadas e pressionadas a serem grandes exemplos a serem seguidos, o fato é que tá cheio de militante por aí que prefere diminuir uma luta a reconhecer suas incoerências.

E antes que venham querer me dizer que estou viajando: eles assumem sim que não são perfeitos, que têm defeitos. Mas, Fato 3: nunca são defeitos que se relacionam com sua luta. Vamo de exemplo pra facilitar um pouco: uma pessoa vegana pode assumir que é insegura ou impaciente. Mas dificilmente ela vai assumir que tem alguma incoerência relacionada com sua luta pela libertação animal, como, por exemplo, que ela comprou um animal de estimação ou que visita o “seaworld” quando vai pra Disney. E o motivo pode até ser nobre: a pessoa se importa tanto com aquela luta que ela não tolera se ver como alguém que age de maneiras incoerentes em relação ela. Mas o resultado é catastrófico, porque implica em excluir aquele pedacinho da luta, diminuindo a importância que ele tem pros objetivos finais da revolução desejada. Mas o papo nesse blog é sobre feminismo, então vamo lá.

Não é porque você é feminista que tudo que faz é feminismo

Um exemplo muito comum é sobre maquiagem (e outros rituais estéticos). Uma luta feminista é pela abolição dessa cultura opressora da feminilidade, que impõe às mulheres obrigações surreais de se vestirem e parecerem sempre agradáveis para os olhares masculinos. E isso não é negado por nenhuma vertente feminista. Nem mesmo o feminismo liberal (que nem feminismo é,  mas para fins de argumentação, vamo até colocar ele no balaio). Mas aí você olha pro lado e se depara com um tanto de feminista que usa maquiagem e se submete a outras opressões estéticas. Até aí tudo bem. Tudo bem mesmo, porque sabemos que isso envolve muitas questões, desde requerimentos de emprego, retaliações sociais, questões de foro íntimo envolvendo autoestima, e eteceteras. O que definitivamente não está tudo bem é você assumir um discurso de que maquiagem não é opressão e, portanto, não seria incoerente com o feminismo – ainda mais quando interesses comerciais entram no meio. Porque aí a sua incapacidade de se aceitar como a pessoa contraditória que é passa a prejudicar uma luta importantíssima pro feminismo. De novo: reconheçam suas incoerências.

Trocando em miúdos: não nos façamos de sonsas. Se somos feministas, sabemos muito bem o que é certo e o que é errado. Sabemos identificar muito bem as opressões. E se você não é capaz (pelo motivo que for) de agir de acordo com o feminismo em toda a sua vida, reconheça isso, e siga firme na luta. Spoiler alert: ninguém é. Fato 4: ninguém age 100% feminista o tempo inteiro, minha gente. Nem você, feministona que não depila nem usa maquiagem, mas tá o tempo todo reproduzindo outros estereótipos de gênero ao agir da maneira mais feminina que o patriarcado espera, não exercendo o direito de dizer não ou recebendo críticas políticas como se fossem ataques pessoais. Nem você, feministona lésbica que acha que é revolucionária porque se libertou da heterossexualidade compulsória, mas reproduz as mesmíssimas opressões dentro do seu relacionamento com outra mulher. Nem você, libertona que critica a monogamia, mas tá sempre querendo controlar todas as pessoas com quem sua parceira se interessa ou se relaciona. Nem você, butch que critica a masculinidade tóxica, mas reproduz uma cópia muito fiel do papel dos homens nas suas relações sexuais e afetivas.

Só assumir não basta

E a conclusão aqui não é a de tá liberado, cada um faz o que quiser (xô, liberais!). A conclusão é que reconhecer as opressões e a maneira correta de agir tendo nossa luta como referência é o ponto de partida para conseguirmos mudar alguma coisa. Mas são todas as opressões, e não apenas aquelas das quais você consegue se libertar fácil e naturalmente. São todas. Incluindo, sobretudo, aquelas que vão ser difíceis mesmo, que vão te tirar do lugar comum, que vão te obrigar a repensar todos os seus hábitos e suas vontades, e também o seu agir. Não vamos conseguir mudar todos eles, nunca. Mas nosso objetivo, enquanto militantes (ou mesmo apenas como pessoas e, aqui sim, cidadãs do bem), é sempre melhorar, é sempre buscar diminuir as contradições entre nosso pensar e nosso agir, é sempre tentar resolver as contradições. E aqui vou fazer uma pequena mudança: assuma suas incoerências. Ao se deparar com uma contradição que você não consegue resolver na sua vida, coloque na sua conta, e não na do movimento. Reconheça a luta por inteiro, não negue as partes que não lhe convém. Se é feminista e usa maquiagem, assuma que é contraditório, ao invés de fazer malabarismo argumentativo pra defender a maquiagem. Na escolha entre você e sua luta, não pode haver dúvidas. E pra finalizar, caso ainda não tenha ficado claro: reconheça e assuma suas incoerências, militante!
